Exploring the best of what Canada’s East Coast has to offer, our commitment to exploration and education is deeply showcased in our 2019 voyages in the Maritimes, Newfoundland and Labrador regions. Through the course of the planned itineraries, guests have the unique opportunity to experience four distinct cultures (French, Acadian, English and Celtic), a variety of Canadian Provinces, as well as visit Canada’s largest National Parks, National Historic Sites and a protected nature reserve!
Passengers on the popular ‘Fins and Fiddles’ voyage, designated by Destination Canada as a Canadian Signature Experience, will travel to the epicentre of Canadian culture. Golfers and non-golfers alike traveling on the novel ‘Fiddles and Sticks’ voyage will visit and play the nations’ best golf courses, amongst many other active adventures such as cycling, stand up paddle boarding and hiking. The ‘Labrador and Torngat Mountains Explorer’ voyage also promises to deliver exceptional cultural and educational experiences with a deeper exploration of Canada’s roots, visiting Inuit communities and a Viking settlement.

Popular Nova Scotia musical group, The Barra MacNeils, will be joining the ‘Fins and Fiddles’ voyage July 10th- 20thon what promises to be the ultimate ‘kitchen party’ at sea. Andrew Prossin, OOE’s Managing Director, also hails from Cape Breton, and with the company having home ports in both Sydney and Louisbourg, he felt it was a natural fit to add the family group as a cultural touch to the voyage.

On the Labrador and Torngat Mountains Explorer expedition July 20th-30th, guests will be thrilled at the opportunity to travel alongside renowned social anthropologist, best-selling author, filmmaker, lecturer, National Geographic Explorer and Fellow & honorary VP of The Royal Canadian Geographical Society, Wade Davis. Playing a key role on this joint Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS) Compass Rose departure, he will be sharing his unparalleled knowledge with guests. These exclusive voyages reflect speciality departures with dedicated RCGS programming featured on board.

Whether exploring the coastal wild lands of Newfoundland and Labrador, golfing the links of Prince Edward Island, or exploring the sandy shores of Sable Island with its beloved wild horses, each voyage combines the rich cultures of the Maritimes with history, wildlife encounters and off-ship excursions, all guided by OOE’s team of experts. On any given voyage, guests will be joined by naturalists, ornithologists, historians and cultural experts, as well as dedicated golf professional, Duncan Savage, on the golf voyage ‘Fiddles and Sticks’.
It’s shaping up to be a great summer in Canada! For more information on any of the trips and guests mentioned above, please contact your preferred agent or get in touch with our sales team here.
