New Dates and Rates
Following our latest announcement that our new vessel – RCGS Resolute – will join One Ocean Expeditions fleet November 2018, we are thrilled to release our 2018-19 Antarctic season including our expanded voyage options.
Our season will begin with a 10-night Antarctic Peninsula voyage sailing out of Punta Arenas on 6 November 2018, arriving into Ushuaia on 16 November 2018. From then on up to the end of March, RCGS Resolute will operate in and out of Ushuaia, Argentina with a range of classic itineraries including the ever-popular 10-night Antarctic Peninsula and the longer 18-night voyage visiting the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica. We have interspersed a couple of 12-night extended Peninsula voyages as well as a 13-night Journey Below the Antarctic Circle voyage for those who would like some extra time to explore the Peninsula south of the Antarctic Circle.

Some interesting highlights of our new vessel – RCGS Resolute
– the vessel was built in the same Finnish shipyard as our other two ships, the Akademik Ioffe and Sergey Vavilov
– the ice class is Lloyds 1AS
– there are two expansive full view dining areas with open seating and bistro dining options.

Onboard Program
All our usual activities and excursions will be operated on the RCGS Resolute, catering to the varied interests of our guests. By breaking our groups of 92, 96 and 146 guests into smaller groups by kayak, zodiac, and on land, we maintain our conservation minded values to ensure proper land use and site guidelines at every area we visit. All of our guests choose their favourite and preferred activity to leave the ship by zodiac at the same time.
As a world leader in the polar expedition cruise industry, our team developed and started industry wide polar sea kayaking operations and environmentally responsible camping in Antarctica, as well as leading excursions based on local knowledge of unique landing sites and areas of interest for photography and wildlife.
Camping will be included on our 10-, 12- and 13-night Antarctic Peninsula voyages onboard the RCGS Resolute.
For the kayakers, we have been able to add an extra 4 spots increasing the group size to 20 in single and double kayaks. We know these extra spots will be appreciated, as our kayaking option fills quickly.
Personalized Service
People have always mattered on our expeditions and we continue to show this at every opportunity on the RCGS Resolute. With one of the highest staff to passenger ratios (1:4) on all our vessels we are able to create small special interest groups, so our guests can choose the activity best suited to their own interests. We are able to offer options and choices throughout the voyage – only possible because of our high staff to passenger ratio – giving our guests the opportunity to customise their own adventure.
