Since its establishment in 2007, One Ocean Expeditions has been contributing to programs aligned with the company’s core values of education, exploration, science, socioeconomic development, and sustainable tourism. As part of its commitment to environmental and social responsibility, and to giving back to the communities in which it operates, One Ocean Expeditions created The One Ocean Foundation in early 2017 to house the growing financial contributions from both passengers and the company itself.
Through The One Ocean Foundation, One Ocean Expeditions has developed community outreach programs in partnership with established organizations, and has enabled millions of dollars in financial support to programs focused on food security, recreation and sport, health, science, and youth education.
A range of select beneficiaries and key programs are supported under The One Ocean Foundation, including The Royal Canadian Geographical Society, Vancouver Aquarium, Vancouver Maritime Museum, Oceanites, South Georgia Heritage Trust, Scott Polar Research Institute, and the California Ocean Alliance. Most recently, The One Ocean Foundation announced a new partnership with the Recreation and Parks Association of Nunavut (RPAN), which will help increase the reach and impact of RPAN’s sport, recreation and leadership training programs across the North.
As Canada’s leading expedition cruise specialist, One Ocean Expeditions is tremendously excited about the opportunity The One Ocean Foundation presents to further expand upon its research and environmental protection initiatives, and its support for local and northern communities.
